My first impression of this idea, was “what’s the point?”. After visiting the website and researching the project, I think it’s quite clever, and a good way of connecting people over the internet, similar to facebook, twitter and flickr. However, it doesn’t really interest me and I doubt I would ever look at it again.
I can see how the differentiation of gender would be relevant (hasn’t it been studied that women are more likely to become depressed than men?). Although, i don’t see the relevance of comparing different ages. Clearly, it only involves people under 40 years old because most people over that age probably don’t use the internet, and if they do they most likely wouldn’t post their feelings on a social networking site.
I do think he has the right to display anyone’s photos or feelings because if those people didn’t want to share them over the internet then they shouldn’t be posting them in the first place. On facebook, people change their ‘current status’ because they want a reaction, for someone to respond. Fair enough that people want to put photographs up to share with their friends and let people know what they’re doing, but they’re being displayed to the world anyway and if the world did see them, then they wouldn’t even know who the person was anyway so why would it matter?
